Seeing the atlas
The same data, many angles: a growing set of information graphics over the real knowledge graph.
Deterministic and server-rendered — each figure is a pure function of the canonical graph.
World map of idea origins
Where ideas came from: each point is a concept, placed at the birthplace of the person credited (Wikidata) — a documented proxy, not an exact founding spot. Filter by discipline family.
Each point: a concept the atlas credits to a person, placed at that person’s birthplace (Wikidata) — a documented proxy for an idea’s geographic origin, not a claim of the exact spot it was founded.
Relations by family
How every canonical relation splits across the semantic families — from taxonomic to analogical.

Connection density
How many concepts have few vs many direct connections (degree distribution) — most are sparsely linked, a few are hubs.
Largest disciplines
The twelve disciplines through which the most concepts are viewed.
Bridges between disciplines
Arcs connect disciplines that share canonical relations; thicker arcs mean more bridging edges.
Mental-model reach
How many concepts each recurring mental model touches (top 12).
Editorial coverage
Share of concepts carrying aliases, misconceptions, worked examples and historical attribution — honest actuals, not a score.
Dependency radial
What “Natural selection” builds on and what it makes possible — derived from dependency and causal relations.
Discipline interaction matrix
How many canonical relations link each pair of disciplines (top 18). The diagonal (within-field) is dimmed so cross-disciplinary structure stands out; hover a cell for the count.
Structural core (k-core)
k-core decomposition: how many concepts sit in progressively deeper shells. k=0 is isolated concepts; the deepest shell is the atlas’s densely connected backbone.
Structural roles
Every concept plays a role in the network topology — hub, cross-disciplinary bridge, connector, specialist, peripheral. Pure structure, not importance.
Structural fragility
Articulation points (cut vertices): 874 concepts whose removal would fragment parts of the atlas. Most-connected first.
Consensus landscape
The atlas by honest epistemic status — from established to speculative. Status is authored per concept, not a derived score.
Evidence coverage by discipline
Share of concepts per discipline backed by a Tier A/B source (primary / scholarly synthesis). Reveals where provenance is still missing — the real research backlog, not a truth measure.
Knowledge timeline
Real, sourced dates from the facts layer on one shared time axis — from antiquity (Archimedes’ principle) to 2015. Filter by discipline and era; nothing is interpolated.
