Code of conduct
How learners, teachers, researchers and contributors are expected to treat each other and the evidence.
Thinking OS is a non-commercial research prototype. This document describes how the prototype actually behaves today. It is not legal advice, and it makes no claims that the repository does not support.
Thinking OS is a place for thinking hard and disagreeing well. One principle underlies everything below: disagreement is welcome; demeaning people is not.
What we expect
- Respect and curiosity. Assume good faith, ask questions, and engage with the strongest version of an idea.
- Intellectual honesty. Distinguish what you know from what you believe; change your mind when the evidence does.
- Learner dignity. Everyone is somewhere on their path. Never mock a question or a wrong answer — misconceptions are where learning starts.
- Evidence and research integrity. Do not fabricate, misrepresent or cherry-pick results, sources or a learner’s work.
- Privacy. Treat other people’s learning data and reflections as confidential; do not share them without consent.
What is not acceptable
- Harassment, discrimination or demeaning language of any kind, including on the basis of who someone is.
- Using the prototype to deceive, to present AI-suggested or unverified claims as established fact, or to manipulate research data.
